Frost Fairy Shoot 2008!…

On Wednesday, February 27th 2008…
Indigoverse Productions in association with Firefly-Path got together in
the great Mojave desert to begin a big excursion to the Mountain…

After arriving at my house around 10:30am, JoEllen, Matt & Vanessa
got to work immediately on making the big transformation from Vanessa
the Human, to Vanessa the Frost Fairy.
In the meantime Dave & I were busy getting the truck loaded with all
the gear that we would need for the shoot…

LOCATION 1 “Snowy Creek”

Once we got to our 1st location, we unloaded key equipment and began
to fire off some test shots which eventually produced some really nice visuals!..

“The shots weren’t too bad, but we needed much more light…”

LOCATION 2 “Frozen Lake”

Now when we got here, we realized that the lighting situation was much better
and so we hurried to take advantage of the situation…

The next shots got us to the edge of the Frozen Lake for what eventually
became some of the best shots of the day!…

LOCATION 3 “Blue Ridge”

After our packing up at the Frozen Lake, we disembarked for our final destination
at Blue Ridge. JoEllen, Matt & Vanessa had only seen photos of this place, but
there was no comparison to the real experience of the sheer majesty of this side
of the great San Gabriel mountain range.

As we pulled off to establish our next shots, we found ourselves getting as close
to the edge of the cliff as possible. Not the safest place to be on a windy day
but that day was unlike any other I had experienced at Blue Ridge.
“the wind had never exceeded 5mph…” It was for lack of a better word,
The perfect day for photography!

The Following 3 shots were taken at the closest possible edge without
taking any unnecessary chances of falling off…hehe

“The light at that time of day was awesome, so I went shot crazy!..”

“I really like the darker shots too which were dramatic due to strong sunlight!”

The next 2 shots were Silhouette shots, thanks to Dave’s recommendation, the end
result would give us shots like these…

After a long day in the snow, we finally came to a close and we were all Starving
for some hot food!…
